An international training course will be organised by GAL del Ducato sconsrl, the Italian partner of the STRAPAC project. The theoretical part of the course will take place in Bedonia while the field visits will be held in Piacenza and Parma, Italy. The residential course will last 7 days (including travel days). It will be open to 20 representatives of religious communities from different countries. Preferably:
1) they should come from poor or rural areas of their country of residence;
2) they could be religious leaders, priests, deacons, monks, religious teachers, or religious leaders of any denominations, representatives of local churches/religious administration, or representatives of other religious communities or minorities;
3) their work should be related to activities promoting education and social inclusion, by organizing schools, or helping people with fewer opportunities, such as disabled people, immigrants, orphans, people who lost their jobs, prisoners, adults, different minorities, such as Roma etc.
The selection will not be based on sex, disability, racial, religious, cultural or social backgrounds.
The course will have both theoretical and practical parts. The theoretical part will include lectures delivered by the partners experts and training courses, including also sharing of experience between the participants, while the practical part will include field visits to poor or rural parishes or religious community based activities, local religious communities, parish centers, social enterprises, information or educational centers, run by local dioceses, parishes or faith communities, dealing with people with fewer opportunities and minorities. The theoretical part will be for 3 days, while the practical part will take 2 days. The participants will be asked to share their experience at local level.
During the course the participant will be also informed about opportunities offered by EU funds.
The group attendig the event will be given an extraordinary opportunity to learn about the social/volunteer work at the level of a parish and to absorb good practices and experience, that will then be easily applied in their local context, but on the other hand they will also have the chance to interact with people with fewer opportunities and to learn about their problems, but also to share with them their own experience.
The course will help the achievement of the following outcomes: 1) increased knowledge and sense of initiative and entrepreneurship and leadership; 2) greater understanding and responsiveness to social and cultural diversity; 4) increased motivation and satisfaction in their everyday work; 5) more active participation in the society and increased capabilities to conduct efficient inter-religious dialogue; 6) Increased awareness and open access to learning for the people in need involved in the activity.
